Set in Stone

The main attractions at Easter Island

The main attractions at Easter Island

The title of this post has a dual meaning. One, my dates of travel are finally set in stone. O happy day! I’ll be departing for Chile on July 18, and I’ll be done with my assignment on September 30. I’ll be returning home to New Jersey on 10/14, and in those intervening two weeks, I’ll find plenty of cool stuff to do.

Two, I’ve booked plane tickets for my trip to Easter Island from 10/6 to 10/10, and so have my mom, my aunt, and my buddy Josh. I’m pretty super-excited about it all. If you don’t know anything about Easter Island, do yourself a favor and just check out the Wikipedia page. It’s a place whose very existence has always captivated me, and I’m really, really excited to actually be going there in 3 months.

Well, that’s all for now. I was going to write about some potential side trips in the last couple of days, but events conspired to slow my posting. I might do a larger Easter Island post in the coming days, as well as a couple about cool side trips we’re planning as well (Macchu Picchu and Punta Arenas, to name a couple).

Awesome Tim! I hope you have a really great time in Chile, besides all the work-work-work.

And if you don’t, at least you’ll have your Easter Island vacation to keep you going.
